San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the Oceanside Police Department continue to look for leads to help identify and locate the suspects involved in the double homicide at Libby Lake Park in Oceanside, CA.
Detectives said on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 8:50 p.m., 13-year-old Melanie Virgen and 15-year-old Edgar Sanchez were shot and killed at Libby Lake Park located at 500 Calle Montecito in Oceanside, CA. Two other juveniles were also shot; they survived their wounds. The case remains unsolved and detectives continue to look for leads.
Detectives will be at the park and adjoining neighborhoods today passing out flyers in an attempt to develop new leads in the case. A copy of the flyer is attached to this email.
