San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego County Sheriff Department’s San Marcos Station are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate an unknown suspect wanted for theft and unlawful use of credit cards.
Detectives said that on June 2, 2011, at about 2:30 pm, an unknown black female approached an 81-year-old woman at the CVS pharmacy, located at 734 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos, while she was shopping. The black female distracted her with questions about a product and then left. When the 81-year-old woman got to the cash register she realized that her wallet was missing from her purse. Soon after that the suspect made $2,400 worth of fraudulent purchases at Costco in Carlsbad, Staples and Rite Aid in San Clemente and obtained a $1,000 cash advance from Chase Bank in Bressi Ranch, using the victim’s credit cards.
On June 3, 2011, at about 10:00 am, the same black female suspect approached a 65-year-old woman at the Windmill Farms in San Diego while she was shopping. The suspect again distracted the victim with various questions and then quickly left. The victim noticed that her wallet was missing from inside her purse when she was at the cash register. Within two hours, the suspect had made $500 worth of fraudulent purchases at Office Depot in La Mesa and obtained a $2,000 cash advance from the Chase Bank in La Mesa, using the victim’s credit cards and information.
On July 6, 2011, at about 11:00 am, the same black female, with a black female accomplice, approached an 85-year-old woman at the Ralph’s grocery store, located at 8800 Grossmont Blvd in La Mesa. One of the females distracted the woman while the second female took her wallet from her purse. A short time later a $3,000 cash advance was made from Citibank and about $500 worth of purchases was made at Macy’s in La Mesa, using the victim’s credit cards and information.
Suspect Description: Black female adult, about 50-55 years old, 5’3”-5’6’ tall, heavy set (180-220 lbs), should length graying hair. The suspect has been described as having four large front teeth with gaps between each tooth.
The accomplice in the July 6th case was described as a Black female adult, about 45-55 years old of medium height and heavyset.
