Person of Interest Sought in Homicide Investigation

POLICE ASK FOR ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING PERSON OF INTEREST

 

San Diego Police Homicide unit detectives are investigating the stabbing death of Oscar Gallegos, who died in the parking lot of a Mission Valley restaurant, as he was being transported to a hospital by his friends.

On July 27, 2010, at 10:16 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Camino Del Rio South with paramedics, and found Gallegos suffering from an apparent stab wound.  Life- saving efforts were performed, however Gallegos died at the scene due to his injuries.  The investigation has revealed Gallegos was dropped off at the location after being stabbed during an altercation at 300 South Bancroft Street in San Diego.

Homicide detectives need to locate and interview Jose Romero regarding the incident.  His whereabouts are unknown, but he is believed to be living and working in the San Diego area.  He is described as a Hispanic male, 25 years old, 5’6” tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.
