POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL SHOOTING IN SKYLINE

San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in the Skyline area of the city.

Tonight at 7:57 p.m., officers responded to the sound of gunfire in the area of 6200 Alderley Street. As officers checked the area, they were flagged down and directed to a shooting victim. Officers located a male lying on the floor in the garage of a residence on the north side of the street. The male had suffered at least one gunshot wound. The officers began CPR and were relieved by paramedics a short time later.

Despite medical intervention the male died at the scene.

Initial information indicates three males were standing in the garage of the residence with the garage door open, when a dark colored vehicle drove by. The vehicle slowed as it drove in front of the residence and an occupant of the vehicle fired several rounds from a handgun into the garage striking the victim.

Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to call the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
