Homicide Suspect: Pedro Guzman Still Wanted for the Murder of Maria Vargas in 1990

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit continue to look for leads to help locate homicide suspect Pedro Guzman.

On March 17, 1990, San Diego Police Department officers responded to a report of a death at 2945 National Avenue in the Logan Heights community of San Diego, California. The body of Maria Vargas was found in her boyfriend’s, Pedro Antonio Guzman, bedroom. Vargas had been strangled to death.  Guzman fled the scene and is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder. It is believed Guzman may have traveled to Mexico.
